FAQ — Common Questions

I’m a widow. Priority processing? Yes. Widows and similarly vulnerable categories get priority and faster processing.

What if my husband works outside Tamil Nadu? You’re eligible if you’re a TN resident (Aadhaar address + voter ID TN-registered). Husband’s workplace doesn’t affect your eligibility.

Can I hold both Tamil Nadu KMUT and a central monthly scheme? Yes, if the central scheme is non-cash (Ujjwala, PMAY) or below ₹1,000/month cash. Another ₹1,000+ monthly cash scheme disqualifies.

Application says “Rejected — Income Above Cap”. How to appeal? Submit a fresh income certificate showing correct (under ₹2.5 lakh) income. Revenue officer processes re-application. If genuine issue, it resolves in 30-45 days.

I’m 72 — can I apply? Yes. No upper age limit. Older women often prioritize old-age pensions (IGNOAPS) but can hold both if eligibility doesn’t overlap.

What if I move out of TN? Scheme is tied to TN domicile. Permanent relocation out of state discontinues KMUT.
