Launched in July 2024 by the Maharashtra state government, Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (मुख्यमंत्री माझी लाड़की बहीण योजना — “My Dear Sister”) is the state’s flagship women’s direct-cash-transfer scheme. Modeled on MP’s Ladli Behna, the scheme reaches women across age groups 21-65 with a monthly ₹1,500 transfer. By early 2025, over 2.5 crore women had been enrolled.

पात्रता — Who Qualifies

- Regular government employee (central / state / PSU)
- Income-tax payer
- Owner of multiple 4-wheelers
- Agricultural land > 5 acres irrigated

Payment Schedule
- Target date: 10th of each month
- Delays of 2-5 days are common during holidays

FAQ — Common Questions
I’m 22 years old and unmarried. Am I eligible? Yes — since the 2024 eligibility expansion, unmarried women aged 21+ qualify. Earlier iterations required marriage; this has been removed.
I’m 67 — can I apply? No. Age range is 21-65. For seniors 65+, apply to state old-age pension (Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana) or IGNOAPS.
I’m pregnant / just delivered — does my scheme get paused? No. Cash transfer continues. The only disqualification is income-related or employment-related changes.
My husband is a Maharashtra government contractual employee. Am I eligible? Contractual govt employees disqualify the household. Wait until the contract ends, then apply.
Can I apply if I’m registered in Lakshmir Bhandar from West Bengal? No. Only one state-level monthly cash scheme at a time. You must stop one to apply for the other.
My Aadhaar is Bangalore-issued but I live in Pune. Can I apply? Update Aadhaar address to Pune first. Applications with non-MH Aadhaar are typically rejected at domicile verification.
