The Mahtari Vandan Yojana (महतारी वंदन योजना — “honouring the mother”) is Chhattisgarh’s flagship women’s cash-transfer scheme, launched on 1 March 2024 by the state government. - Verification completes within 30-45 days; approved women start receiving ₹1,000 in the next monthly cycle (typically credited on the 1st of each month)

FAQ — Common Questions
My Samagra/CG family ID is recent — does that matter? CG uses a different family ID framework than MP’s Samagra. Your Aadhaar is the primary identifier for Mahtari Vandan. A valid CG residence proof is required; family ID is not.
I already get Ladli Bahna type benefit in another state — what happens if I move to CG? If you’re a new CG resident (less than 5 years of residence), you may not immediately qualify. Establish domicile first (voter ID, ration card) and then apply.
Can a single unmarried woman apply? No. The scheme is specifically for married women including widowed/divorced/abandoned. Unmarried women are not eligible under current rules.
My husband is a contractual government employee — am I eligible? No. The exclusion applies to both regular and contractual government employees. You’ll need to apply after the contractual engagement ends (unlikely to be automatic).
I don’t have my own bank account — can I use my husband’s? No. The account must be in the applicant’s own name with her Aadhaar seeded to it. Open a Jan Dhan Yojana zero-balance account first if needed — it’s free.
What if my application is rejected? The Anganwadi worker receives a rejection reason. Common reasons: income threshold exceeded, family ineligibility (govt employee / income-tax payer), duplicate application. Correct the underlying issue and reapply in the next registration round.
