The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana is the flagship women’s welfare programme of the Madhya Pradesh government. Ladli Behna is a direct cash transfer to married women (including divorced and widowed) from eligible households in Madhya Pradesh.
- Monthly amount: ₹1,250, credited to the woman’s Aadhaar-linked bank account via DBT
- Frequency: paid on or around the 10th of each month
- Additional benefits: LPG cylinder subsidy (state top-up over Ujjwala), bonuses before Rakshabandhan and other festivals in some years
पात्रता — Who Qualifies
Mandatory conditions
- Resident of Madhya Pradesh (at least 5 years continuous residency)
- Married woman (including widow, divorcee, abandoned)
- Age between 21 and 60 years
- Family income below ₹2.5 lakh per year
- Family not owning 4-wheeler (tractor is OK), 5+ acres of agricultural land, or more than one non-agri plot

- Family has a government employee (regular/contractual)
- Family has an income-tax payer
- Women receiving ₹1,250 or more from any other government scheme as monthly benefit (to prevent double benefit)
- Women with pensioner spouse drawing more than specified limit

Registration rounds are opened periodically by the state government (not year-round). When open, here’s the process:
- Visit your Gram Panchayat Secretary (villages) or Municipal Ward Office (urban)
- Carry Samagra ID, Aadhaar, bank passbook, and photos
- The officer fills the form on cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in on your behalf (or on the Ladli Behna mobile app)
- Live photograph is captured on the spot
- You receive an acknowledgment slip — keep it safe
- Status is verified over 30-60 days; approved women start receiving the ₹1,250 from the next monthly cycle
Self-registration at home is not allowed — the scheme mandates physical verification at Panchayat/Ward level to prevent fraud.

Common reasons payments fail
- Aadhaar-bank link is broken (NPCI de-mapped)
- Account frozen or inoperative
- Samagra ID deactivated due to family-income update
- KYC flagged due to another scheme enrollment crossing the overlap limit

I am a widow — am I eligible for Ladli Behna Yojana?
