पात्रता — Who Qualifies
- Girl child born to parents residing in Bihar
- Domicile / permanent residence in Bihar
- For school-stage benefits: enrolled in Bihar Government or Govt-Aided school/college
- For ₹50,000 graduation benefit: graduated from any UGC-recognized university before turning 25 years

आवेदन प्रक्रिया — How to Apply (by Life Stage)
1. Birth and immunization benefits (parent-driven)
- Register the birth with the local Anganwadi Kendra and Jeevika DiDi if your village is covered
- Enrol Aadhaar for your daughter within the first year
- Complete full immunization by age 2 — the Anganwadi worker records this on the medhasoft backend
- Amount credited to mother’s bank account automatically
2. School uniform benefits (school-driven)
- Your daughter’s school submits the list of enrolled students annually to the Education Department
- Funds are disbursed through the Head Teacher → parent’s bank account
- Usually twice a year
3. ₹50,000 graduation benefit (student-driven)
- Open https://medhasoft.bih.nic.in → “Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana” → Snatak Protsahan Yojana section
- Click “Apply Online” / “New Registration”
- Enter: Aadhaar, degree certificate details, university name and code, passing year, marksheet of final year
- Upload documents: Aadhaar, marksheet, degree certificate, bank passbook, domicile proof, photo
- Submit. You receive an application reference number.
- University verification takes 30-60 days
- Once approved, ₹50,000 is credited to your Aadhaar-linked bank account via DBT
Very important: apply before turning 25 years. Applications filed after age 25 are automatically rejected.

I graduated after age 25. Can I still apply for the ₹50,000 Kanya Utthan graduation benefit?
No. The hard cut-off is graduation completed before age 25. Applications from graduates above 25 are automatically rejected.
I am from Bihar but studying outside the state. Does my course qualify for Kanya Utthan?
Yes, if your course is from a UGC-recognized Indian university. Students studying outside Bihar are eligible as long as the domicile proof is Bihar.
My name is spelled differently on my degree and Aadhaar. Will my Kanya Utthan application fail?
Likely yes — this is the most common rejection reason. Correct your Aadhaar name at the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra first, or attach a name-affidavit to the application.
Does the ₹50,000 benefit apply to girls who drop out before graduation?
No. The graduation component is only for girls who successfully complete graduation before age 25. Earlier-stage benefits like uniform and immunization are paid regardless of later academic path.
Does a 2-year B.Ed or Diploma course qualify for Kanya Utthan graduation benefit?
No. Diploma courses do not qualify. The scheme applies to 3 or 4 year UGC-recognized graduation courses like BA, BSc, BCom, BTech, or integrated equivalents.
